Introduction | The Portable Document Format (PDF) is a file format used to present documents in a manner independent of application software, hardware, and operating systems. Each PDF file encapsulates a complete description of a fixed-layout flat document, including the text, fonts, graphics, and other information needed to display it. | JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital images, particularly for those images produced by digital photography. The degree of compression can be adjusted, allowing a selectable tradeoff between storage size and image quality. JPEG typically achieves 10:1 compression with little perceptible loss in image quality. |
Images are files that contain graphical information, usually of a photograph, drawing, or another kind of visual media. Common image file formats are JPG, PNG, and TIFF, for example. GIF files can also be static images. PDF files are like snapshots of document files.
Extract images from a PDF Convert each PDF page into a JPG or extract all images contained in a PDF. Upload your file and transform it. Upload from computer.
Having a JPG version of a PDF allows you to do more with that document. As an example, let’s say you have a print advertisement for your restaurant in PDF. If you wanted to share that advertisement on social media, you wouldn’t be able to, because most social media sites — Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. — do not accept PDF uploads.
